Bonnieux winds down the hill, and spreads across the Luberon, from the peak of the Luberon to the Plateau des Claparèdes and the banks of the Calavon River. Bonnieux is one of the most beautiful perched villages on the northern side of the Luberon. From Bonnieux there are magnificent views over the farming plains in the Calavon river valley, the Monts de Vaucluse and Mont Ventoux. The Gothic and Romanesque church overlooks the village, which stands at 425 m altitude and dominates the Lourmarin pass, which is the only road through the Luberon range.
