A loop with outstanding views
Approximate length : 2 1/2 hours of uphills, and 1 1/2 hours of downhill. Plan on 5 hours in all. Altitude change : 600 m. Distance : 9 km
On the way up, you go through several stages of vegetation and arrive at the summit pelouses on the crest, and the highest point in the Grand Luberon, the peak known as the “Mourre-Nègre”.
From Apt , take the RD 48 road in the direction of Saignon, go to the top of the village and at the Post office, take the direction of Auribeau.
As you enter the village, turn right in the direction of “Parking Mourre Nègre” or “Aire L. Peysson “. The road goes downward the back upward, here you will find the parking lot at the top of a short rise. Near the parking lot, a yellow direction sign shows the direction to take: - Marauvière. Follow the yellow marks.
In Marauvière, follow the direction - la Basse de Cabrières -, follow the yellow marks. Once at the top, follow the GR trail, direction - Mourre Nègre -, to - Jas de Brémond -. On the way, make the little detour by the gigantic wireless antenna, which is at the very peak, at 1,125 m. A vast 360° panorama.
At the Jas de Brémond sign, go back down in the direction of Aire L. Peysson, follow the yellow marks which will take you back to the car, intersecting the forest trail.
